You can wash it to ensure that you remove the hair. Leave the conditioner on the hair for ten minutes. This works same as you do for your natural hair. Use warm water to wash out the conditioner; you may be sure that you do not leave any residue. Gently squeeze all the water; this has to be done very carefully avoiding the hair tangles. Keep your unit flat on the towel to dry up naturally, do not hang or use a hair dryer. Drying maintains the shine and the softness. You can use a flat iron or the curly tongs to create your style.
